About the proposal to move this category to Bordes scenes

I plea for just adding Category:Bordes scenes as a parent to this category, not to rename and/or move the files and make a redirect, this would be a loss of information in the category structure. There are indeed other photos of bordes scenes, see for instance some files in Category:Official visits at Soestdijk Palace. I would be glad to help, just ask/ping me. I would agree though, to rename this category to Category:Bordes scenes at Huis ten Bosch (and make it a subcategory of Category:Bordes scenes). JopkeB (talk) 05:17, 12 December 2023 (UTC)

That would be fine with me as well, although I have found only one picture at Soestdijk and one at Noordeinde. Do you want to have categories for those as well or keep these in the parent category? Dajasj (talk) 21:16, 12 December 2023 (UTC)

There are several at Soestdijk, I'll make a category for them, but first I need to know the correct name.

If you mean this one for Noordeinde, then we have two different kind of bordes scenes:

1. with new cabinets
2. of the royal family; there are also some of Category:Royal Palace of Amsterdam, of the family as well as with other people, at least with Winston Churchill

There are several photos with cabinet members at Soestdijk, but without the queen. Photos before 1971 aren't really bordes scenes. That's why I found only one. The other ones you mentioned, with the royal family, are balkon scenes which is also a different thing.

Anyway, I think renaming to Category:Bordes scenes at Huis ten Bosch is the thing we should do regardless. I will have some time for that later today. Dajasj (talk) 06:53, 13 December 2023 (UTC)

You are right about the Soestdijk photos. But then the next question is: should the queen always be on a bordes scene with the new cabinet?

Well the phenomenon "bordes scene" - according to the sources I have read - always includes the queen/king and has started in 1971 (the photo is btw never on the bordes). The reason I came to this category, is because I want to link to a matching category from nlwiki en enwiki. Thats why Im somewhat focussed on that strict definition if that makes sense.
