"Beorn" as in the Tolkien books? This is getting silly. The files in this category are adequately categorized in Category:Burial mounds in Sweden. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 20:22, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you did a little research before you labeled othe rpeople's hard work silly you would find that Beorn has been a legitimate English form for Swedish Björn since long before Tolkien and that he knowledgebly used that ancient name for his character (as he did for many others). See for example here. No sillier than being careful to spell your name Pieter in Dutch. It is so exasperating that some of the very few things I happen know about through serious study, like English name forms, must be called silly (for example) by someone who doesn't bother to check on things. Find-A-Grave, to name one other good example to follow, has these mounds listed under Beorn in English, so of course they shoudd be so listed here in English. The name of http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=15927149 by J.T. Demitz is also fantasy. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 05:34, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Do you even read what other people write on these pages or do you just put down your own insults here without caring about the facts? The administrators at Find-A-Grave are apparently much more caring about facts than you are. I give you facts and references, you give us this kind of unpleasantries. Is that the same Demitz you wrote me about last year - how very very impressed you are with him? And how could you help us, you begged then? EmilEikS (talk) 06:20, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It is really simple: category names should follow the way the subject is usually referred to in current English usage. One version of this character is known from a contemporary text in latin, where he is called "Bern" (benigne a rege, qui Bern vocabatur, suscepti sunt), but Bern is the name of a city in current English. In this English translation the name is given as "Biörn". /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 16:06, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You are insisting in this case (and several others) only on attempting to correct me in a masterful way and trying to find one basically irrelevant way after another to do so, but not on anything useful to WP Commons. You are competing with me in a personal way, but I am not at all interested in competing with you. Please stop it! It takes up too much time and effort that can be better spent, mine and yours. There are a lot of serious problems with category names here. Why not do a little work on them and leave me alone awhile? EmilEikS (talk) 21:03, 8 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
