At https://digitalcollections.lib.washington.edu/digital/collection/transportation/id/334, our source for File:SS ATHENEAN with passengers departing for Nome, June 5, 1900 (TRANSPORT 334).jpg, the University of Washington Libraries quote Gordon Newell, ed., The H.W. McCurdy Marine History of the Pacific Northwest (Seattle: Superior Publishing Co, 1966), generally a very reliable source as calling this ship the Athenean. However, the Seattle Daily Times June 4, 1900 and June 5, 1900, gives the name as Athenian, not Athenian. - Jmabel ! talk 05:39, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

For your information: see www.histarmar.com.ar for an image of the ship. The Ship List says: Athenian 1881 1897 sold to Canadian Pacific, and final: page 686 of 1882 in the Lloyd's Register of Shipping 1890 gives at nr. 819 Athenian of 1881 --Stunteltje (talk) 21:56, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
