Vinctifer comptoni occurs in the Santana Formation in geodes. To make the fossils visually more attractive the fishes are sometimes placed in completely different rock slabs (sometimes black granite slabs - here at least a rock slab matching the color of the original matrix was used). The fins are not original but painted.
