[edit]My definition of allylic compound (added to this category today):
- Allylic compounds are chemical containing an allylic group. Allylic groups are functional groups based on the allyl group, H2C=CHCH2, i.e. C3H5, and derived from allyl by substitution of one or more of its hydrogen atoms with any atom or group of atoms. Allylic compounds share the general formula C3X5, where X is any element or group.
