When you make a cat like this, you must also change/adapt/create other templates. Category:1973 elections in the United Kingdom uses a template that makes those elections a subcat of Category:Elections in 1973, without any "continent". Therefore Category:1973 elections in Asia unnecessarily separates two countries from the general Category:Elections in 1973. BTW should Category:1973 elections in the United Kingdom used a template that would create a "Europe '73 elections" cat, then Turkey should "also" take part within that cat, as a transcontinental country. IMHO as long as file numbers do not oblige us, there is no need for these continental subdivisions, but if you make them, then that should be universal, including America, Africa, etc. (Nowadays they even make elections on the frozen continent of Antarctica. :) --E4024 (talk) 16:53, 5 February 2021 (UTC)
