The word "kiosk" (from "köşk" in Turkish) has an etymological origin in the Orient, for which reason sometimes people translate "köşk" from Turkish into English as "kiosk". We all know what a kiosk is; but a "köşk" is not a kiosk. It is a pavilion, sometimes a manor house. It has almost nothing to do with a "small building" except some "köşk" may look like a small palace or "palacette". I propose to use the Turkish name of the place in Commons. It is a proper name: "Çinili Köşk", and we have no obligation to translate proper names. Indeed I was going to make the move by myself but I saw the EN:WP title mentioned at the page and did not want to do it without consultation. (To say things honestly, I have little, if any, interest towards that WP, but I do respect the work done by people in there and I do not want to ignore them; although it is crystal clear a mistake. BTW the mistake may have its roots out of the Commons-WP area, but still it is a "mistake".) E4024 (talk) 20:52, 14 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know about changing the name if that's the most common English translation (I'm not saying it is, I just don't know), but it definitely shouldn't be a sub-category of Category:Kiosks in Turkey (etc.) any more than Category:White Castle restaurants deserves to fall under the category tree of Category:Castles or Category:Burger King under Category:Kings by name. - Themightyquill (talk) 21:43, 15 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
