Русский: Стереофонический (до линейного выхода) 4-дорожечный магнитофон "Яуза-209-1" выпускался московским ЭМЗ N1 (что в Колодезном переулке) с 1983 года. Это последняя катушечная "Яуза" в исторПредшествовавшая, незначительно отличающаяся "Яуза-209" выпускалась с 1980 года, ну а лентопротяжный механизм восходит к самой первой "Яузе-5" 1960 года. ЛПМ всех "Яуз" принципиально отличается от типового, унифицированного ЛПМ киевской разработки ("Маяки", "Юпитеры" и пр. "второклашки"). В "Яузах" применяется единственный тяговый пассик, с маховика тонвала на приёмный подкассетник (второй пассик обслуживает счётчик). Мотор - асинхронный, не склонный к детонации, но и не допускающий подстройки скорости. На всех подобных "Яузах" применялись разные версии мотора АД-5, но здесь конструкция мотора изменена настолько, что он "лишился" привычного имени - только код по ТУ. Передача с мотора на маховик тонвала - промежуточным роликом, с мотора на приёмный подкассетник в режиме перемотки вперёд - другим промежуточным роликом, с мотора на подающий подкассетник в режиме перемотки назад - непосредственная. При этом вместо того, чтобы перемещать ролики и тормозные колодки, ЛПМ перемещает подкассетники. Ролики и тормозные колодки остаются на месте.

English: The Yauza 209-1 was a Soviet 4-track stereo reel-to-reel recorder introduced in 1983 (yes, the Soviets still used reel-to-reel when the rest of the world was already embracing the CD... it's complicated. But the model 209-1 was the last in line of Yauza reel-to-reels). The tape transport dates back to the 1960 Yauza-5 model, with many minor improvements. It is distinctly different from the standardized Soviet transport used by Mayak, Yupiter and other brands in the same price bracket. The motor is a low-noise, fixed-speed asynchronous type. There is only one driving belt (the other belt drives the tape counter); the critical motor-to-capstan coupling is via a rubberized idler. Instead of moving the (other) idler and brake pads to/from the spools, the mech moves the spools relative to the idler and brake pads which are fixed. It certainly works, and there's far less things that may go wrong. The electronics leave a lot to be desired, though.
