Xiangshanyan Temple was built in Jianyan period of Southern Song dynasty (1127), and proceeded rebuilding from the period of ninth year (1376) of Hongwu period in Ming dynasty to Qing dynasty. The temple locates in center of Xiangshan scenery area, stands against East toward Northwest. It is now a district protected historic site and also the most important cultural and religious activity venue in Xiang 'an District. It is traditionally believed that in Northern Song dynasty, Qingshui Patriarch traveled here and settled down in Xiangshan, when Qingshui Patriarch passed away, in annual lunar January 6th was taken as worshiping festival, and the broad square in front of temple becomes a largeperforming stage for Song Jiang battle array, Slapping-chest dance, Gaojia drama and Gezai opera, Xiangshan Temple Fair is passed down until today.
