Wolfsklamm (Wolf's gorge) was made accessible to tourists as soon as 1901, by building wooden stairs. In 1936, a complete boardwalk was constructed, but was destroyed in 1950 due to inundation. Local tourism and village authorities had it re-installed by 1957.

Wolfsklamm is entered at the north edge of Stans in Karwendel mountains and leads to St. Georgenberg monastery. It is said to have 354 stairs, being unique in the Alps.
