The Wireless World Quality Amplifier was a British design by W. T. Cocking. The original was published in Wireless World in 1934, the Wartime Quality Amplifer (triode and tetrode versions) in 1943 and the ultimate Quality Amplifier in 1946 (4, 8 and 12 Watt all-triode versions). All follow the same schematic with minor changes to tube ratings and power supply. The audio circuits are the same. The only somewhat different circuit is a 1943 wartime version with 6V6 tetrodes - this one had feedback loops from transformer primary to the driver stage (transformer outside the loop)
The Quality Amplifier was the direct predecessor to the Williamson amplifier. Williamson added negative feedback loop, input error amplifier stage, and provided highly demanding specifications for the output transformer; the rest of the circuit is precisely the same. Williamson's prototype used both PX25 DHT and KT66 beam tetrode; the published version used only KT66.
