In the middle a building that was originally built in 1915 for the Theosophical Society. This building later housed resistance fighter Jan Hendrik op den Velde, alias Hein. Here he was arrested on March 2, 1943 by the Nazi-Germans. He would die in captivity. A day later, also arrested was resistance fighter Marinus de Rijke (codenamed Jopie Vlietstra), who ran an illegal radio-transmitter from this same address. He also died in captivity.
