These are the twelve carved heads of Protestant Reformers (or Christian Reformers, or Nonconformist priests), at the gable ends of the east wall. They are later replacements by an unknown sculptor, and do not match the style of the 1862 original carvings of leaves on the label stops and capitals. Since the original carving on the building was by Mawer and Ingle, the current heads probably replaced heads by that company's portraitist, Catherine Mawer.
