English: The first West Ham (code WH) bus garage was in Greengate Street (part of the A112 road), Plaistow, London Borough of Newham. It was originally a tram depot, opened in 1906 as the headquarters of West Ham Corporation Tramways. It later housed trolleybuses from 1937 and then motor buses from 1959, before closing in 1992. The garage structure was demolished, but the headquarters building remains 51°31′39″N 0°01′38″E / 51.527473°N 0.027316°E / 51.527473; 0.027316. A housing development built on the site includes a street named after the Routemaster bus that was based there - see Routemaster Close for further details. In 2008 a new garage, also named West Ham and code WH, was opened in Stephenson Street, Canning Town, about a kilometer to the west.
