English: Wemyss Bay (pronounced weemz) is a village on the west Coast of the Firth of Clyde in the district of Inverclyde, Scotland. The name may derive from the Gaelic uaimh, meaning 'cave'. It is also thought that it derives from Bob Wemyss, who was the owner of a hut on the shore in the 19th century.
