English: Waryńskiego Street. In the 19th century, this street was called Polowa. It ran through the densely built-up area of the Jewish district. Along this street stood compact buildings, which from the Lipowa side were mostly made of brick. This fragment has survived to this day. It is the most characteristic example of the downtown development of Białystok from the end of the 19th century. The old, existing buildings at numbers 2-8, 1 and 7-11 were typical tenement houses. On their ground floors there were shops, small service establishments, and in the courtyards there were small factories. At number 8 there was a 3-class municipal elementary school named after Pushkin.
