English: The War of the Lüneburg Succession (German: Lüneburger Erbfolgekrieg) was a conflict that broke out in 1370 in north Germany and lasted, with interruptions, for 18 years. The war was over the line of succession to the Principality of Lüneburg. Due to a serious illness in 1388, possibly a result of poisoning, one of the combatants could no longer prosecute the war, and hostilities ended.

Deutsch: Der Lüneburger Erbfolgekrieg war ein 1370 ausgebrochener Konflikt um die Erbfolge im Fürstentum Lüneburg. Nachdem Wilhelm II. von Lüneburg 1369 ohne männliche Nachkommen starb, erlosch das ältere Haus Lüneburg. Gemäß den welfischen Hausgesetzen wäre der Braunschweiger Herzog Magnus II. Torquatus erbberechtigt gewesen, Kaiser Karl IV. betrachtete das Reichslehen jedoch als ans Reich zurückgefallen und belehnte Albrecht von Sachsen-Wittenberg und dessen Onkel Wenzel mit dem Fürstentum, wodurch der Krieg ausgelöst wurde.
