The memorial on the Myrtle Street elevation of the Liverpool Sheltering Home consist of two stone tablets flanking the entrance. The dedication inscription reads
THE LIVERPOOL/ SHELTERING HOMES/ THESE TABLETS ARE ERECTED TO/ THE ENDURING MEMORY OF OLD BOYS/ OF THIS HOME WHO CAME OVER WITH/ CANADIAN DIVISIONS AND LAID/ DOWN THEIR LIVES AT THE CALL OF/ TRUTH AND HONOUR IN THE/ GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919/ (NAMES) BY THE SOUL ONLY THE NATIONS/ SHALL BE GREAT AND FREE.
