The 7th Brigade (7th Brigade (Australia)) was stationed in the then Hamilton Road Reserve in 1941-42. In 1942 it moved to Papua New Guinea and distinguished itself in the Battle of Milne Bay. Corporal Jack French received a posthumous Victoria Cross in recognition of great valour displayed during the battle. The current 7th Brigade is stationed in Gallipoli Barracks, Enoggera.
