English: Wansei means Japanese people who were born in Taiwan during the Japanese colonial period (Japanese imperial rule: 1985-1945). Beginning in 1946, they were deported to Japan in batches. After the 228 incident, the Kuomintang government (the Chiang's government) forcibly deported all the Japanese to Japan. All repatriation works were completed in or around August 1949, so the Japanese born in Taiwan now are not Wansei. Despite the end of colonial rule, they have not been deported before 1949, then they are still Wansei.
