Русский: Это большое эфиопское Евангелие, созданное в первой половине XVI века, написано на языке геэз — традиционном литургическом языке Эфиопской Православной Церкви. Оно содержит 11 полностраничных миниатюр, шесть таблиц канонов и пять искусно украшенных харэг (заставок) и является свидетельством золотого века стиля "гунда-гунде", получившего свое название от монастыря в округе Агаме. Стиль "гунда-гунде" характеризуется яркими блоками цвета с примыкающими сложными и нередко утонченными линейными узорми. Для иллюстраций, выполненных в этом стиле, характерны высокостилизованные выразительные фигуры персонажей, а сопроводительные таблицы канонов и заставки наполнены сложными переплетающимися линиями и геометрическими формами. Данная рукопись очень хорошо сохранилась и представляет собой прекрасный и редкий образец эфиопских иллюмированных рукописей, созданных в одном из ведущих художественных центров страны.

Français : Ce grand évangéliaire éthiopien, réalisé durant la première moitié du XVI^e siècle, fut écrit en gǝ'ǝz, langue liturgique traditionnelle de l'Église orthodoxe éthiopienne. Contenant 11 miniatures de la taille d'une page, six tables de canon et cinq en-têtes, ou ḥarägs, richement décorés, ce manuscrit représente l'âge d'or du style appelé gunda-gunde d'après le monastère du même nom dans la province de l'Agamé. Ce style est caractérisé par des blocs de couleurs franches, définis par des motifs linéaires détaillés et souvent raffinés. Les personnages sont très stylisés et expressifs, tandis que les tables des canons et les ḥarägs sont composés d'une multitude de formes géométriques et d'entrelacs sophistiqués. Exceptionnellement bien conservé, le manuscrit est un rare et excellent exemple de l'enluminure éthiopienne produite dans l'un des centres artistiques importants du pays.

English: This large Ethiopian Gospel book was made in the first half of the 16th century and is written in Gǝ‛ǝz, the traditional liturgical language of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. Containing 11 full-page miniatures, six canon tables, and five elaborately ornamented ḥarägs (headpieces), this manuscript represents the golden age of what has been termed the Gunda Gunde style, named after a monastery in the district of Agame. The Gunda Gunde style is characterized by bold blocks of color defined by detailed, and often delicate, linear motifs. Figures are highly stylized and expressive, while the accompanying canon tables and ḥarägs are filled with intricate interlace and geometric forms. The manuscript is exceptionally well preserved, and is an excellent and rare example of Ethiopian illumination from one of its important artistic centers.

Com 11 miniaturas de página inteira, seis tábuas canônicas e cinco ḥarägs (cabeçalhos) elaboradamente ornamentados, este manuscrito representa a idade de ouro do que foi chamado o estilo Gunda Gunde, que recebe seu nome de um monastério no distrito de Agame. O estilo Gunda Gunde é caracterizado por blocos sólidos de cores definidas por motivos lineares detalhados e frequentemente delicados. As figuras são altamente estilizadas e expressivas, enquanto as tábuas canônicas e os harägs que os acompanham são preenchidos por formas geométricas e entrelaçamentos intrincados. العربية: كُتِب هذا الإنجيل الكبير في النصف الأول من القرن السادس عشر باللغة الجعزية، وهي لغة الشعائر التقليدية بالكنيسة الأرثوذكسية الإثيوبية. تُمثِل هذه المخطوطة العصر الذهبي لما أُطلِق عليه اسم أسلوب غوندة غوندي، نسبةً إلى أحد الأديرة بمقاطعة أغامي، ويرجع ذلك لاحتواء المخطوطة على 11 منمنمة على كامل مساحة الصفحة وستة جداول للقوانين الكنسية وخمسة هاراغ (نقوش زخرفية رئيسية) مزخرفة بإتقان. يتميز أسلوب غوندة غوندي بكتل من الألوان العريضة تحدها أنماط خطية مُفصَّلة ورقيقة. الأشكال زُخرفية ومُعبرة إلى حدٍّ كبير، بينما تملأ جداولَ القوانين الكنسية والهاراغ المصاحبة زخارفُ متشابكة معقدة وأشكال هندسية. حافظت المخطوطة على هيئتها بصورة استثنائية، وهي مثال ممتاز ونادر للزخارف الإثيوبية من أحد أهم مراكزها الفنية.

El manuscrito tiene 11 miniaturas a toda página, seis tablas canónicas y cinco ḥarägs (viñetas) con decoración elaborada, y representa la edad dorada de lo que se ha denominado el estilo Gunda Gunde, llamado así por un monasterio en el distrito de Agame. El estilo Gunda Gunde se caracteriza por bloques de llamativos colores, definidos por detallados y, a menudo, delicados motivos lineales.
