Walter Caro (23 May 1899 in Berlin — 20 April 1944 at Auschwitz) was a German Jew who succeeded in hiding himself for seven months in Berlin. He was arrested on 23 September 1943, interrogated and tortured in Berlin, deported to Auschwitz concentration camp and murdered there. He is seen as a resistance fighter against the Nazi regime.

The first edition of the Stolperstein dedicated to him (seen below) is erroneous: it states that he died in March 1945. The new version reflects the correct date of his death.
