English: The Waldsanatorium bei Planegg (Forest Sanatorium near Planegg), established 1898, is despite its name not in Planegg, but in neighbouring Krailling. The sanatorium was originally Bavaria's first Volksheilstätte (people's sanatorium) for persons suffering from lung disease. With the decrease of lung deseases the sanatorium was transformed into a retirment home in 1985. The sanatorium, the operation of which was handed to the Sisters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul right from 1898 on, is still run by the Sisters, who bought the sanatorium from the original owner, the association for people's sanatoria, in 1921.
