English: Former L&YR shed opened in 1893. Coded 25A by the LMS in 1935, it was at the top of its district with sub-sheds covering a wide area from Goole to Sowerby Bridge. Situated to the east of the main line and east of Kirkgate station. Transferred to BR North Eastern Region in 1955 and recoded 56A with responsibility for Ardsley. Closed in June 1967, although part of the site was subsequently used as a wagon repair facility until 1986. Demolition came in Spring 1993.
