English: Since the beginning of Holocene, the East Volcanic Zone has been the most active volcanic zone of Iceland with volcanoes like Grímsvötn, Hekla and Bárðarbunga. Some geologists see the South Volcanic Zone as part of the East Volcanic Zone of Iceland, others not.
