English: The viking statue in Gimli, Manitoba, Canada was a centennial project undertaken by the Gimli Chamber of Commerce and designed by Gissur Eliasson of the University of Manitoba. Finished for the Canadian Centennial in 1967, the 4.6-metre (15 ft) fibreglass statue cost $15,000 to complete.
