This is a design of ACMV Vevey at Villeneuve VD, Switzerland with components of Duewag and ABB. ACMV is nowadays part of Bombardier. The vehicles normally operate under overhead, but for movements to maintenance facilities they had an auxiliary diesel motor. These caused several problems and so maintenance facilities were electrified and the auxiliaries removed. The additional batch of 5 cars was built without it and thus classified Be instead of Bem.
