English: A monument for Gustav Adolf Uthmann (1967–1920), a member of the Arbeiterbewegung (German workers movement), lead 9 choruses in Wuppertal and composed over 400 industrial folk songs, fight songs and songs for peace. The monument was financed by the members of the Deutscher Arbeiter Sängerbund (German singers assiociation of workers). The design of the 18 meters in in diameter walk-on base and the stele with the memorial plaque was from sculptor Wilhelm Koopmann. The earthwork and stone work was built by Barmer Bauhütte (Maisons' lodge of Barmen).
  • 1930: Monument was unveiled
  • 1933: The plaque was disassembled due to the political turn to National Socialism
  • 1947: A temporary plaque from artificial stone was installed
  • 1957: A new bronze plaque designed by sculptor Harald Schmahl replaced the stone plaque
  • 2006: The bronze plaque was stolen among other bronze monuments in Wuppertal
  • 2007: A new Bronze plaque was installed. It was designed by sculptor Shwan Kamal
