English: Founded as University State Bank August 12, 1906. First located at 4143 University Way NE, Seattle, Washington, then 4124 University Way NE, before constructing its 1912 Neo-classical steel and concrete building at 4500 University Way NE, on the northeast corner of University Way NE and NE 45th Street. Originally, the upstairs was a ballroom, later offices. It became a national bank in 1922; consolidated with the Pacific National Bank in 1955; renamed the Pacific National Bank of Washington in 1970; merged into First Interstate Bank of Washington (under the holding company Category:First Interstate Bancorp) in 1981; that, in turn, was merged into Wells Fargo and Company in 1996.
