Character list

These are not compatibility characters, but they have compatibility decomposition mappings to sequences space, Arabic letters and diacritics, without canonical equivalence, essentially for collation purposes. Preferred characters with context-sensitive shaping and joining are found in the Arabic block.
This block also contains 32 reserved non-characters in the range U+FDD0-FDEF (normally not valid in many standards for interoperable interchange of encoded texts across systems).

Punctuation
For legacy reasons, these ornate parentheses do not mirror in bidirectional display and do not have the Bidi_Paired_Bracket property.
These ornate parentheses also do not have compatibility decompositions and should not be considered presentation forms.

Spacing diacritics
Medial shaddah with diacritics
Arabic pedagogical symbols
These are spacing symbols representing Arabic letter diacritics considered in isolation, as for example as in discussions about the Arabic script.
These pedagogical symbols have no compatibility decompositions and should not be considered presentation forms.
