The museum site, describing the year 1905, writes: "G. van Bergen contractors employed a dozen men to hoist Thomas Vinçotte’s pair of chariots to the roof. With a team of two horses and a charioteer apiece, they were intended to symbolize the triumph of art and have been the emblem of the museum ever since they were installed." A video in the museum showed the horses during restoration, and how one had to climb into them. In view of this text and the articles about its sculpture describing it as "Nike", "Victory" or similar must be considered wrong.
