Traub's Market at 704-730 West Emaus Avenue, accross the street from South Mountain Junior High School, was the largest independent supermarket in Allentown. Born in 1894, George F Traub had started working selling fresh produce in a wheelbarrow. Later on, he became a butcher who was widely known in South Allentown for the quality of the meats he sold. The store opened in 1918 by him and his wife Helen Traub as a grocery at 5th and Emaus Avenue. By 1920 Traub moved his store to a larger location at 2312 South 5th Street.

On January 29, 1964 George and his sons, Dick and Herman opened a large new Traub's Market in a new 24,000 square-foot supermarket building on West Emaus Avenue. An independent supermarket, Traub's Market was noted nationally in the supermarket trade Journal "Progressive Grocer" in 1965 as a "Store of the Month", and noted its success as Allentown's leading independent supermarket. Inside the store, Traubs was one of the first supermarkets to offer an in-store snack bar for shoppers who wanted a quick bite to eat. One of the biggest sellers was Traub's hot dogs. Later, a store called Traub's Doggies was opened in Emmaus in 1997 long after the supermarket closed by Kirby Traub, a descendent of George Traub.

George Traub and his sons operated the business until his passing in May 1971. After that, his sons took over the business. In May 1989, the Traub brothers retired and the store was sold to businessman Daniel W. Shantz and developer Jeff Trainer

Shantz and Trainer renamed the store as "T n T Market". The store was subsequently remodeled from its mid-century look with the large glass windows in the front into a more contemporary design. In addition, Shantz built a shopping center around the store. Shantz subsequently sold the business and shopping center in May 1990 to Insalaco Markets, which owned stores in Lacawanna, Luzerne and Monroe Counties, Pennsylvania. The market closed on September 7, 1991, less than 15 months after it opened.

Herman Traub passed in September 1999, his brother Richard (Dick) Traub in December 2009. Today, the store is known as Superfood Supermarket.
