English: In 1917, the Boston Elevated Railway constructed a streetcar line on South Street (soon renamed Victory Road) in Dorchester, beginning at the existing Neponset Avenue trackage and leading over a wooden bridge to the Victory Destroyer Plant in Squantum. Service began on January 11, 1918; it was reduced to a single-car Fields Corner–Squantum shuttle on September 7, 1920, and discontinued entirely on February 1, 1924. The bridge was destroyed by fire in June 1925 during demolition.
