English: A tombstone in the Confucius Cemetery (Kong Lin), somewhere near the main entrance and the tomb of Confucius. The inscription mentions that the deceased was a 68th-generation descendant of Confucius, and worked for the Ministry of Justice (刑部). The base of the tombstone is made so that to make one feel that there is a huge turtle hidden there, but one only sees the front and rear edges of its shell. This style, of which I have not seen many other examples, makes one think of the bixi turtles; however, a normal bixi is a full-fledged turtle, complete with a head, tail, and legs, and it holds a stele near the grave, rather than the tombstone itself.
