This well is no longer considered holy by residents. They also don't use the name Toberpatrick which they only know from maps. Instead, they now refer to it as Molly Tobin's Well. In the past, it was known as Nell Ryan's Well after a lady Ellen Ryan. The current landowner Paul, who is a mason, built the well house in the 1990s. According to him, the water is low in calcium content, but might be slightly higher in iron content.
He cleans the well off algae every May with furze/ gorse branches.
The only time Paul remembers the well to dry out was in the summer of 1984.
