English: Tinhongana waterhole is situated beside the S33 route in the southern Kruger National Park. Tinhongana is the Tsonga word for the wildebeest fly (Kirkioestrus minutus), which was around in numbers when the borehole was sunk by Johan Kloppers (1933-2016) in 1962. cf. Floors vd Wateren
