English: This newly reconstituted building destroyed in 1928 has various names, such as Hall of Scriptures, Scripture Hall, Sutra Pavilion, which come from its former use as a library of 5000 Buddhist MSS, all of which were conflagrated. Buddhist writings came primarily from the Tibetan Buddhists, an intermediate phase between Pakistan and China. The new building is a new library and also a lecture hall for Buddhism, hence the name Hall of Sermons. It is the first central building to the north of Mahavira Hall. It is also a treasure-house of encased Buddhist art, only some of which have media in this category.
