Thousand Buddha Temple (普濟禪寺) [1] (one of the largest Buddhist temple in Metro Manila founded by Guangchun (廣純), a disciple of Ruijin based at the Chengtian Temple (承天寺) in Quanzhou in 1937; in 1976 he purchased land in Quezon City, founding this temple the following year; first building was constructed in 1980 enshrines an image of Vairocana Buddha [2] flanked by 1,000 small images of Guanyin [3], ground floor is the dining hall and shrine to the 18 arhats (lohan) [4] of Chinese Buddhism, the Medicine Buddha [5] and the Thousand Hands Thousand Eyes Guanyin [6]; the temple’s main inspiration is Mt. Putuo Guanyin [7], Mt. Putuo (普陀山); the second building is dedicated to Guanyin with ancestral hall is on the ground floor, the monastics’ quarter on third floor; the third is a 3-storey columbary, with individual stupas on the roof; until his December 2010 death, Guangchun led the temple with his Dharma sister, nun Guangxue (廣學), now in charge; Doña King Pao Guat Typoco photo at the main hall and Don Ty Tiong Typoco - built with aid of some local Filipino- Chinese Dr. Lucio Tan and his mother (Doña King Pao Guat Typoco and Don Ty Tiong Typoco ), mother and father of taipans Tan Yu and Don Jesus Typoco Sr; Buddhist scholars and deities within the perimeter wall of the temple; Quan Yin statue with Indian tree ( False Ashoka ) the late 1980’s – Polyalthia longifolia; man-made pond with kois; columbarium building built 1989 until early 1990’s - 10,000 cremated remains were interred inside the columbarium - the 2nd floor (Dr. Lucio Tan’s mother is interred).
