Thomas Skinner (1819-1881) was an etcher from Sheffield, West Yorkshire, England, who invented an engraving method for table knives in which the design could be mass produced. The engravings in this category may have been created or manufactured using Skinner's technique, but they are not necessarily made to his original artistic designs. Skinner's housekeeper killed him by poisoning, and some subcategories here may relate to the last days of his life, and events which triggered a major court case.
