Description: The «Patriot of Ukraine» is a radical political organization of paramilitary type in Ukraine. It was created in 1999 in Lviv as a youth wing of the Social-National Party of Ukraine (SNPU) with Andriy Parubiy as its first leader (1998-2004). After the dissolution of the Social-National Party, and creation of the All-Ukrainian Association "Svoboda" in 2004 instead, the original Patriot of Ukraine was disbanded. In 2005-2006 the organization was re-established as «Patriot of Ukraine» in Kharkiv where a local chapter of the Patriot of Ukraine continued to function. In 2007, the «Patriot of Ukraine» ceased official relationship with «Svoboda». In November-December 2013, together with the «UNA-UNSO», the White Hammer, and the «Stepan Bandera All-Ukrainian Organization „Tryzub“», the «Patriot of Ukraine» formed the Right Sector, a radical faction of the Euromaidan protest movement. The «Patriot of Ukraine» continued to utilize the «Idea of the Nation» as its organizational emblem, a symbol similar to Wolfsangel rune, which was previously used by the SNPU.
