A Grade I listed building. A townhouse of the late 17th century built by Richard and Lettice Preston as a status symbol of wealth and power. He was a local lawyer and landowner. It now contains a museum of local life in the Craven District of North Yorkshire. There is a coffee shop on the ground floor.
