English: The Chinese High School was an independent school in Singapore offering secondary education. The school was founded by Tan Kah Kee on 21 March 1919, and merged with Hwa Chong Junior College on 1 January 2005 to form Hwa Chong Institution. The Chinese name of The Chinese High School is preserved as the Chinese of the merged institution.
中文:华侨中学(原名新加坡南洋华侨中学校)是一所 新加坡6年制的自主中学,设有4年制初中部,和2年制高中部。华侨中学在1919年由南洋商人、慈善家陈嘉庚创办,為新加坡第一所主要以中文为教学媒介的语言。华侨中学自开办以来便是传统南洋"华校"的典范之一。今天华侨中学已经成为新加坡最顶尖的5所中学之一,虽然主教语已更改为英语,但依然保持了比较浓厚的华文背景。
