The Tallensi, also Talega or Talni, are an ethnos in the northeast of Ghana. The language of the Tallensi is the Farefare, a dialect of the family of the central Gur-languages. The denotation "Tallis" marks in this context one of the both original clans of the Tallensi. The Tallensi are one of the so-called "stateless societies" which one can discover in the north of Ghana.
