Manor Built in the high style of early-18th-century Newport, Sylvester Manor is a repository of American history from Colonial times to the present day. In 1926 Cornelia Horsford moved the Southold Windmill from the town center to the grounds of Sylvester manor, a former slave plantation on Shelter Island between the north and south forks of eastern long island, NY. Today it sits on the grounds of the educational farm founded by a 12th generation Sylvester.
