Similar phenomena occur in terrestrial photographs. Sun glitter refers specifically to the reflection of sunlight from water ripples, giving multiple spots of light. There is also a difference of emphasis; the term sunglint is usually used when the pattern of reflections enhances contrast (and for instance helps delineate a natural feature) or shows something not otherwise obvious about the subject.
