There are six carved keystone heads along the frontage of the former County Court House, Bradford. Formally, they represent masks worn by ancient Greek actors.

  • There are two mayors of Bradford depicted - one at each end of the row - and they are each identified by the attribute of a brick crown (as is the mayor carved on the wall of St George's Hall, Bradford, and on Leeds Town Hall). The mayors in office between the foundation and opening of the building were: Henry Brown (1856–1859), Isaac Wright (1859–1862), and Matthew William Thompson (1862–1863).
  • There are two carvings of young women, one with the ends of her hair twisted right; the other with her hair-ends twisted left.
  • The two carvings with many curls (and no crown) recall ancient representations of Apollo, one of whose attributes was curly hair. One of these possibly also represents Charles Reeves, the architect of the building.
