English: Connecticut state attorney Stiles Judson left $5,000 in his will for a memorial to be built in his memory. It was initially erected in July 1916 in front of St. James Church in Stratford (and later moved to West Broad Street). It was ten feet high and topped with a bronze seagull. It contained a bronze medallion of Judson's "striking likeness," and provided drinking water for humans, horses, and dogs. The sculptor was Bela Lyon Pratt of Boston.[1]
