La policromia (specialmente lo sfondo blu), perduta in quasi tutte le altre steli funerarie antiche, è qui conservata in modo eccezionale. La stele è oggi esposta nella Sala delle steli funerarie attiche, al primo piano del Museo archeologico del Pireo (Atene).
English: A fragment of the funerary stele for Diogenes son of di Apollonides, from Pyrrha in the island of Lesbos, dates from the mid 4th century BC. Polychromy (especially the blue background), which is lost in almost any other ancient funerary stele, is here exceptionally well preserved. The stele is now on display in the Room of the Attic stelai, at the first floor of the Archaeological Museum of Piraeus (Athens).
