English: "Sinbad the Sailor". This statue commemorates Gyula Krúdy (1878-1933), Hungarian writer, on the occasion of the 135th anniversary of the artist’s birth and that of the 80th jubilee of his death. It represents Sinbad, the hero of Krúdy’s short stories and novels who – from certain points of views – is the alter ego, the wraith of the writer, however he has been improved to be an independent character. Sinbad sails from the world of One Thousand and One Nights to Krúdy’s world, where he is revived to live his own life. Sinbad sitting at a table in a tavern appears as the actor Zoltán Latinovits who has played the leading role in the film adaptation of the novels by Zoltán Huszárik in 1971. The life-size bronze statue sculpted by Péter Szanyi has been unveiled on October 21, 2013 in Óbuda next to the town-hall. (Budapest, District III, Fő Square)

Il représente Sinbad, le héros des nouvelles et du roman-fleuve de Krúdy qui - à certains points de vue - est l'alter ego, la réplique de l'écrivain, mais qui est devenu un caractère indépendant. Sinbad navigue du monde des Mille et Une Nuits au monde de Krúdy, où il est reconstituée à vivre sa propre vie. Sinbad assis à une table d'une guinguette est incarné par l'acteur Zoltán Latinovits qui a joué le rôle principal dans l'adaptation cinématographique des romans réalisée par Zoltán Huszárik en 1971. La statue de bronze de grandeur nature sculptée par M. Péter Szanyi a été inaugurée le 21 octobre 2013 just à côté de l’hôtel de ville d’Óbuda. (Place Szent Imre, Budapest, 3e arr.)
Magyar: "Szindbád, a tengerész". Ez a szobor Krúdy Gyula (1878-1933) írónak állít emléket, a művész születésének 135. és halálának 80. évfordulója alkalmából. Szindbádot, Krúdy novelláinak és regényfolyamának főhősét ábrázolja, aki bizonyos szempontból az író alter egója, képmása, mégis önállóvá nemesedett alak. Szindbád az Ezeregyéjszaka mesevilágából hajózik át Krúdy világába, ahol önálló életre kel. A kocsmaasztalnál ülő Szindbád Latinovits Zoltán alakjában jelenik meg, aki Huszárik Zoltán filmadaptációjának főszerepét játszotta 1971-ben. Szanyi Péter életnagyságú bronzszobrát 2013. október 21-én avatták fel az óbudai polgármesteri hivatal mellett. (Budapest III. ker., Fő tér)
