Stamps of British colonies, designed and/or engraved by Leonard Vincent Phillips (1876-1954)
Stamps of states of the Commonwealth insofar under British sovereignty, designed and/or engraved by Leonard Vincent Phillips (1876-1954)

Note:
Leonard Vincent Phillips (1876-1954) has all his life worked for the British printery "De La Rue" in London. He was the creator of the (first) cameo portraits of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II which were printed as oval on almost all definitive and commemorative stamps of states of the British Commonwealth so long these were under British sovereignty. Mr. Phillips has also survived the complete destroying of the "De La Rue" printery building in 1940 by a German attack on London. Anyway during and after the World War II, he had had his workplace in an atelier in the "Bunhill Row" of London. He was the creator and engraver of a cameo portrait of the British King George VI with view to right (created after a photo by Bertram Park (1883-1972)), as well as a cameo portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with view to left (created after a photo by Dorothy Wilding (1893-1976) showing the British Queen Elizabeth II in the age of 26 years). Both portraits were pictured in ovals among others also on the definitive stamps of states of the British colonies issued as so-called "Coconut issue".
